Alpharetta is getting its own slice of the Korean bakery boom this summer, as Paris Baguette readies a new bakery-café for 4119 Lake Street with an eye on a mid-July opening. The shop comes from franchisee Layne Alkaasamani, who already runs a Paris Baguette in Kennesaw and is betting that North Fulton has an appetite for fresh pastries and coffee.

Speaking with What Now, Alkaasamani, who trained in Switzerland as a pastry chef, said the brand won her over for reasons that go beyond croissants. "What made it stand out for me was the culture. I really like the corner bakery feeling," she explained. That neighborhood vibe is what she is aiming to replicate on Lake Street, where build-out is underway and a mid-July debut is the current goal.

Paris Baguette started in South Korea in 1988 and has since grown into a global chain. According to a company release cited by PR Newswire, the brand now has more than 4,000 locations worldwide and is in expansion mode across North America. The company marked the opening of a Vinings café in February as its eighth Georgia location, a count the Alpharetta shop would bump to nine.

Local footprint and what to expect

Paris Baguette is already a known name to Cobb County regulars. The chain lists a Kennesaw café at 425 Ernest W. Barrett Pkwy NW, which is the store Alkaasamani currently operates. Paris Baguette confirms the address and hours for that location and highlights the usual lineup of daily-baked pastries, whole and sliced cakes, sandwiches and Lavazza coffee drinks.

The Alpharetta menu is expected to follow that same playbook, pairing sweets and light bites with a steady caffeine stream in a casual café setting. If all goes according to plan behind the scenes, locals should see the ovens fired up in mid-July, with a precise opening date still to come as build-out and permitting wrap.

How Alpharetta fits into the metro push

The Lake Street opening is part of a broader Atlanta-area push for the brand. PR Newswire detailed the recent Vinings debut, and a separate Midtown address at 1100 Peachtree has also been flagged as part of the rollout. For more on that project, check out this tasty Midtown tower makeover.

Alkaasamani told What Now that she is already thinking beyond Alpharetta and Kennesaw, saying she hopes to grow her small franchise group to two or three additional locations in the region. For now, though, Alpharetta residents can start counting down to mid-July and the first wave of Paris Baguette pastries and cakes headed for Lake Street.
