Aguacate Garden of Love, the leafy vegan garden and animal sanctuary tucked into Kendall Lakes, quietly reopened its gates on Saturday after about a year-and-a-half away, bringing its plant-based kitchen, outdoor events program and petting zoo for rescued farm animals back to the neighborhood.
As reported by Miami New Times, the venue has started with a soft reopening and is planning a public grand reopening for next Saturday. According to Miami New Times, the team is easing back into service with limited hours while the garden staff works to bring the full sanctuary experience back online.
Menu Favorites And Wellness Drinks Return
The soft launch brings back longtime staples like the Madurito Burrito and the Vegan Pan con Bistec alongside 16-ounce wellness smoothies and cold-pressed juices. The restaurant’s ordering page on Toast lists the Madurito, packed with sweet plantains, jackfruit and black beans, and the Pan con Bistec with grilled seitan, as well as drinks such as the “Awakened Monkey” smoothie and the “Sun Gazing” juice. There is also a lineup of quick wellness “master shots” for anyone looking for a concentrated boost.
Sanctuary And Community Comeback
Beyond the food, Aguacate’s animal sanctuary is back in operation, complete with a petting zoo and feeding areas for rescued farm animals that give families and animal lovers a hands-on reason to visit. The return carries extra weight for Miami’s plant-based community after Aguacate and fellow vegan spot Minty Z closed in September 2024, an absence local vegans felt keenly, Miami New Times reports.
