Working out at the gym turned into an unexpected headache for several drivers in Irving Park, where a run of car break-ins hit people while they were inside an LA Fitness and nearby stores, according to a community alert from Chicago police. Thieves smashed side windows and grabbed backpacks, electronics, and cash from multiple vehicles parked in the shopping complex along West Addison Street, as reported by FOX 32 Chicago.

Police Details and Timeline

All of the incidents were reported in the 3400 block of West Addison Street. Police say there were three break-ins on March 24, two more on March 31, and another on April 6. In each case, burglars shattered a side window while the victim was working out and took money, electronics, and bags, according to FOX 32 Chicago.

Where It Happened

The break-ins happened in the parking lot for a large retail complex at Addison and St. Louis Avenue, home to an LA Fitness at 3443 W. Addison and a Floor & Décor store. LA Fitness lists a club at that address, and Floor & Décor confirms an Addison location. Commercial listings for the property also note an Olive Garden and other large tenants on the same block.
