
One person was found dead after a house fire on General Buckner Road in Stewart County on Wednesday night, according to local fire officials. Stewart County Fire Rescue and the Dover Fire Department arrived to find heavy flames pouring from the back of the home, with fire in the basement and part of the structure already partially collapsed. Crews launched search and suppression efforts and later discovered the victim inside.

Teams carried out extensive suppression work while simultaneously searching the damaged home before locating the victim.
Mutual aid and local response
According to FOX17, Stewart County Fire Rescue thanked mutual-aid crews from Montgomery County and the Paris Landing Fire Department for helping at the scene and shared its thoughts and prayers for the victim’s family. The outlet also reported that the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation is assisting with the death investigation, citing a statement from the department.
