
One person was taken to a hospital after a shooting on Thursday in downtown Denver, in the 2000 block of Lawrence Street near Coors Field, authorities said. Officers and investigators converged on the stretch as they worked to sort out what unfolded.
The Denver Police Department said in a post on X that officers found one victim and that person was transported to a hospital, according to FOX31 Denver. The station reported that police had not yet released details on the victim’s condition or any information about a possible suspect. Investigators remained on scene and said they would share more once they have it, per the station’s report.
Where it happened
The 2000 block of Lawrence sits in LoDo’s ballpark corridor, a busy run of bars, restaurants, and event spaces just a few blocks from Coors Field. Coors Field sits at 2001 Blake Street and anchors the neighborhood, according to MLB. That stretch of Lawrence has seen other recent gunfire, including an incident near 28th Street reported as another 28th and Lawrence shooting, as per Hoodline.
