Newly released police bodycam footage captures the tense moments when a woman approaches Miami Beach officers after escaping an alleged sexual battery and kidnapping near Ocean Drive on Dec. 27, 2025. The suspect, 28-year-old Alix Innocent, was arrested the following day and is being held without bond on kidnapping and sexual battery counts.
Bodycam Shows Victim’s Account To Officers
In footage released April 16, Miami Beach officers are seen speaking with a distressed woman who, with her voice disguised, tells them, "Then he forced me to have sex and I got away," according to WSVN. The clip shows the woman describing being led to a rooftop and threatened, details police included in an arrest report cited by the station.
Surveillance Ties The Attack To Ocean Drive
Security video from the Sherbrooke Hotel captured the moments the assault began and shows the victim’s fiancé screaming after he was punched, as detailed by NBC6. Investigators say that footage places the couple on the 900 block of Ocean Drive before the suspect led the woman up to the roof of a building later identified as 918 Ocean Drive.
Police Say Social Posts Helped Identify Suspect
Investigators tracked the suspect after he allegedly posted videos on Instagram that bragged about the attack and showed him back at the scene, and officers located 28-year-old Alix Louis Innocent the following day, per NBC6. As NBC6 reported, "The subject not only committed these heinous acts but he went back to the crime scene and bragged about it on social media," and police say they found suspected mushrooms and marijuana in his backpack at the time of his arrest.
Case Status And What’s Next
Miami Beach police charged Innocent with kidnapping and sexual battery. He remains jailed with no bond and faces open cases in both Miami-Dade and Broward counties, according to WSVN. The station reports a trial date is expected sometime next month.
