As reported by WKRC Local 12, citing WDTN and the Champaign County Sheriff's Office, deputies were called to Willow Wood Circle in Urbana Township around 8:40 p.m. Monday after a report of an unresponsive man at a residence. First responders arrived to find the victim already receiving medical attention while a witness performed CPR, before medics moved him for air transport.

According to WHIO, which cited information from the Champaign County Sheriff's Office, investigators were told the two men had an earlier verbal dispute that witnesses said included racial slurs. The sheriff's office said the suspect later returned to the victim's home and struck him once, knocking the man to the ground and leaving him unresponsive. Witnesses at the scene again began CPR as Urbana fire crews provided on-site care before the patient was flown to Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton, where officials say he is stable but still unresponsive.

Authorities identified the suspect as Richard 'TJ' Robinson IV, who was located and taken into custody without incident, WKRC Local 12 reported. He was booked on felonious assault and aggravated criminal trespass. Detectives documented evidence at the scene and carried out follow-up interviews as the investigation continues.
