
A late-night burst of gunfire at a north Charlotte apartment complex left one person fighting for life early Saturday, as investigators worked through the overnight hours to piece together what happened.
What Happened
According to WBTV, officers were called to an apartment complex on Woodsedge Drive around 2 a.m. Saturday. First responders found a victim suffering from a gunshot wound and rushed the person to a hospital with life-threatening injuries. WBTV reported that the victim was listed in critical condition and that it was not immediately clear whether police had made any arrests.
Multiple Shootings Across The City That Night
According to WSOC, MEDIC crews were dispatched to the 8000 block of Woodsedge Drive around 3:40 a.m. The Woodsedge shooting was one of three separate incidents that left four people wounded between roughly 3 a.m. and 4 a.m. Saturday. WSOC reported that investigators had not yet linked the cases to one another as they worked multiple crime scenes across Charlotte.
Police Response And How To Help
Per the Charlotte‑Mecklenburg Police Department, anyone with information is asked to call 704‑432‑TIPS (8477). Tips can also be shared anonymously with Charlotte Crime Stoppers at 704‑334‑1600 or through the P3 Tips app. Detectives had not released any suspect descriptions or a possible motive as of Sunday and urged residents to provide any video or eyewitness details that might help move the case forward.
