Health-minded Kendall locals are about to get another place to linger over avocado-topped toast and iced coffee. Pura Vida, the Miami-born wellness café chain, is set to open a new location this summer at The Palms at Town & Country, bringing its mix of sandwiches, bowls, artisanal coffee and all-day breakfast to one of the neighborhood's busiest shopping hubs.

The brand is taking a roughly 3,425-square-foot storefront at the center, adding another national-facing concept to a mall that has been steadily reworking its food and lifestyle lineup. Shoppers will find the café tucked into a growing cluster of new wellness and dining tenants that are reshaping the feel of the property.

Where it will be

The new Pura Vida outpost is listed as Space 25 at The Palms at Town & Country. The property's leasing page shows a 3,425-square-foot footprint at 11800 Mills Drive, right along the Florida Turnpike at Kendall Drive, according to Kimco Realty.

The Palms spans about 80 acres as an open-air lifestyle center, with anchors that include Publix, Dick's Sporting Goods and Total Wine. That combination of big-box traffic and suburban convenience makes the new café a natural grab-and-go stop. The space size also falls in line with Pura Vida's typical suburban footprints, suggesting a familiar layout for regulars of the chain.

What Pura Vida brings

Founded in 2012, Pura Vida has grown into a lifestyle-focused café brand with more than 40 locations across Florida, New York City and California, according to Nation's Restaurant News. The chain leans into an accessible wellness vibe rather than standard fast-casual, built around café staples that aim to feel a bit more like a lifestyle choice than a quick bite.

The company highlights chef-driven sandwiches, bowls, smoothies and an in-store retail arm, and notes a recent minority investment meant to help speed up expansion, per Pura Vida Miami. The Kendall shop will extend that playbook to yet another suburban pocket, giving locals a new spot for health-forward meals and caffeine fixes in the middle of their errand runs.

Palms reshuffle and why it matters

The Palms at Town & Country has been steadily reshaping its tenant mix to favor dining and experiential concepts that can pull shoppers in more often. Recently, Tesla plugs into Kendall with plans to convert a former Toys 'R' Us on the property into a showroom and service center, a move that fits into a broader redevelopment trend at the center.

Pura Vida's arrival is another data point in the landlord's strategy to lean on food and wellness to boost foot traffic. 'We're focused on introducing brands that complement the existing mix,' Katie Wycoff, director of real estate at Kimco, said in a press release via What Now. That same announcement called out CAVA, Jetset Pilates and Yoga Joint as additional incoming tenants, underscoring the property's tilt toward mindful living and dining.

Pura Vida has not yet pinned down a specific opening date. Kimco and the café say the Kendall location is slated to debut sometime this summer, with exact hours and a ribbon-cutting date still to come. When it does open, the move will give Kendall one more option for health-forward grab-and-go meals and coffee in a busy suburban retail corridor.
