An early-morning shooting turned a quiet stretch of Edgefield Drive into an active crime scene when Memphis police responded to an emergency call just before 2:15 a.m. in the Raleigh neighborhood. Officers were sent to a home off Frayser-Raleigh Road, and neighbors reported a heavy police presence as the investigation stretched into the morning.
According to FOX13 Memphis, crews arrived to find an active scene with several police vehicles, including a crime-scene investigation van. Officers remained on Edgefield Drive while detectives processed evidence and worked to piece together what happened. Officials have not released any information about possible injuries or suspects.
