Last Thursday, Revere Police Department said a coordinated operation stretching across Lynn and Revere ended with two arrests and what officers described as a significant haul of fentanyl, crack cocaine and cash. Detectives executed multiple search warrants in both cities and reported finding narcotics stashed in a manufactured hide built into a motor vehicle. Authorities said the arrests stemmed from two separate operations overseen by the department’s Special Investigations Unit working with regional partners, as per the Revere Police Department's Facebook post.

As outlined in a post by Revere Police Department, detectives from the Special Investigations Unit, the Suffolk County Sheriff’s Department and Lynn Police executed search warrants in both communities on Thursday. The Facebook post includes photos of packaged narcotics, cash and what investigators described as a manufactured concealment used to hide drugs inside a vehicle. Revere Police said the joint work produced two arrests and that the investigation is still active.

“The partnership with regional partners continues to be an invaluable asset in keeping the community safe,” Revere Police wrote in the Facebook update, underscoring how often these cases now cross city lines.

The department identified one Revere arrestee as 46-year-old Vincent Macchione. According to the post, he faces multiple counts, including trafficking a Class A substance, identified by police as fentanyl, trafficking a Class B substance, identified as crack cocaine, and possession-with-intent charges tied to other controlled substances. Revere Police said Macchione was arrested in connection with the Revere search warrants.

Lynn Arrest And Evidence

A separate individual from Lynn was also arrested, Revere Police said, and charged with trafficking in a Class A substance and possession with intent to distribute a Class B substance. Detectives reported recovering narcotics along with a large sum of money inside a Lynn home while carrying out search warrants.

Seized Items Shown In Photos

Images shared by the department show bagged powder, hand-wrapped bundles and stacks of cash. The post described the trove as a “significant amount” of both fentanyl and crack cocaine. Detectives also located narcotics hidden in what they called a manufactured motor-vehicle hide, a custom concealment that investigators say can be used to move drugs without drawing attention.

Legal Context

In Massachusetts, fentanyl is classified as a Class A substance, and trafficking offenses are governed by Chapter 94C of the General Laws. Certain weight thresholds in trafficking statutes can trigger mandatory minimum prison sentences. For background on the statutes that apply to trafficking and possession charges, see M.G.L. c. 94C.

A Regional Pattern

The seizure mirrors other recent multi-agency efforts on the North Shore. A joint operation last April also resulted in fentanyl and crack cocaine seizures, reflecting how local law enforcement agencies increasingly point to collaboration as a core tactic for disrupting street-level distribution.

The arrests remain allegations, and the defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in court. The Facebook post did not include arraignment dates or additional details about prosecution.
