Chicago’s sweet tooth just scored big. The city has been tapped as the permanent home of the Candy Hall of Fame Experience, a large-scale attraction devoted to the history and culture of sweets. Organizers plan to build the multi-level exhibit space on the Magnificent Mile, at roughly 830 N. Michigan Ave, with the project targeted to open in 2027.
The team behind the attraction is already promoting it through an official site that spotlights Chicago as the host city and stamps the experience as “COMING 2027.” As outlined by CHOF Experience, the exhibition is set to unpack brand stories, key moments in candy manufacturing, and the people who helped shape the industry.
Mag Mile location and scale
As reported by FOX 32 Chicago, Chicago was chosen over New York City and Orlando, and organizers say the attraction is expected to occupy about 60,000 square feet of multi-level space at 830 N. Michigan Ave. The site sits directly on the Magnificent Mile, a high-foot-traffic retail corridor that organizers hope will help the experience pull in both tourists and local visitors.
Who’s behind the Hall
The Candy Hall of Fame is run by the National Confectionery Sales Association, an industry group that also oversees the Hall’s annual inductions and related programming. According to the Candy Hall of Fame site, the association has managed the Hall since its founding and describes the new Chicago attraction as a natural extension of that long-running industry tradition.
What visitors can expect
Organizers describe the CHOF Experience as an immersive, interactive attraction that will blend artifacts, brand histories and hands-on elements geared to a wide range of ages, according to the official site. FOX 32 Chicago reports that the attraction is expected to open in summer 2027, and operators say more details on programming and ticketing will roll out as the project moves forward.
What’s next for the project
Many operational details, from daily hours and ticket pricing to staffing and vendor partners, have not yet been announced. The Candy Hall of Fame site and the CHOF Experience signup tools are offering ways for interested visitors and potential partners to receive updates as new information is released, according to the association’s web pages.
