Noe Valley is getting a new spot for roast chicken this summer, as Bonita Taqueria y Rotisserie, the family-run counter-serve known for its spit-roasted chicken, moves into the neighborhood. The opening will bring the business back to three San Francisco storefronts after it pared back during the pandemic.
Owner Confirms Third Location And Summer Target
Co-owner Jawad "JJ" Sweidan told WhatNow that the 24th Street shop will be the restaurant's third location in the city. "Now we're back to three," JJ said to the outlet. According to the report, the Noe Valley outpost is expected to open in late June or early July.
Rotisserie Classics And Brunch Going Big
Bonita's menu centers on rotisserie chicken, which shows up in tacos, burritos, bowls, and quesadillas. The restaurant currently lists a weekend "Bonita Brunch" on the Bonita website, running Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays until 3 PM. According to WhatNow, JJ said the Noe Valley opening will coincide with turning that brunch menu into an all-day, daily offering at all locations.
Noe Valley Address And A Slightly Slower Debut
The new shop is headed for the former Tacolicious storefront at 4063 24th Street, a location that The Noe Valley Voice flagged after a "coming soon" poster appeared in the window. The neighborhood paper noted that the poster had promised an early spring opening, a timeline that now appears to have slipped into early summer.
Sliding Into San Francisco's Roast-Chicken Scene
Bonita's rotisserie focus places it in a busy local market for roast chicken, where spit-roasted birds are a reliable neighborhood draw. Eater SF's roundup of the city's best roast-chicken spots underscores that demand and lists Bonita among the rotisserie contenders around San Francisco.
Bonita currently operates Marina and Polk locations and posts menus and hours on its website, and the company says the Noe Valley outpost will expand the brand's reach across central neighborhoods. Neighbors can expect more definitive opening news as the fit-out wraps and permits are clear.
