Porsche New Orleans is about to level up its local footprint, with a 37,000-square-foot Gen 5 showroom and service center set to officially open May 27 at 8900 Veterans Memorial Blvd in Metairie. Backed by New Orleans Saints owner Gayle Benson and operated by Benson Automotive Group, the new site is billed as an upgraded Porsche retail hub for the metro area. A ribbon cutting is on the calendar as the dealership gets ready to start booking service appointments and greeting customers in the new digs.
Gen 5 design aims to elevate the Porsche experience
According to New Orleans CityBusiness, the Metairie location is one of only six "Gen 5" Porsche facilities in the United States, built out with a sleek, modern showroom, a roomy customer lounge and a high-tech service department outfitted with 18 service bays. "Our Gen 5 facility is designed to enhance the customer experience and reflect the Porsche brand’s commitment to innovation and excellence," Jerry Moisant, president of Benson Automotive Group, said in 2024.
Where to find it and what to expect
The dealership's official site lists 8900 Veterans Memorial Blvd as the Metairie address and invites drivers from Metairie, New Orleans and beyond to stop in, tour the new showroom or schedule service. As outlined by Porsche New Orleans, the location will handle sales, certified maintenance and parts for the brand's latest models.
Benson’s auto footprint has been growing
The opening follows Gayle Benson's April 2024 purchase of several Ray Brandt dealerships and collision centers, a move that brought Porsche New Orleans under the Benson Automotive Group umbrella, WDSU reported. The acquisitions added to Benson's existing dealership lineup across the region and increased the group's overall service capacity.
Built for service and local jobs
Contractor Kent Design Build noted the Metairie project is among a small number of Gen 5 Porsche dealerships nationwide, highlighting the complexity and luxury-focused design that went into the facility. New Orleans CityBusiness reported the completed building spans about 37,000 square feet and includes an 18-bay advanced service center, signaling a significant local investment in auto retail and maintenance capacity.
What comes next for drivers
The ribbon cutting and official opening are scheduled for May 27, after which the showroom and service center will open to customers, with certified technicians on hand for maintenance and repair work.
