
Gunfire rattled a southeast Raleigh neighborhood Sunday evening after shots rang out near Follow Me Way off Rock Quarry Road, sending two people to local hospitals with injuries that police say are not believed to be life threatening. Detectives stayed on scene into the night, knocking on doors and combing the area for witnesses and evidence.
What police say
Raleigh police said officers were dispatched around 6:58 p.m. to reports of shots fired on Follow Me Way, where they found two people suffering from gunshot wounds, according to WRAL. Both victims were taken to area hospitals, and investigators told the outlet the injuries did not appear to be life threatening as they continued processing the scene.
Separate call on Rock Quarry Road
The city reported in a news release that officers were also sent around 7:33 p.m. to a separate shooting call in the 700 block of Rock Quarry Road, where they located an adult male who was transported to the hospital, per the Raleigh Police Department. Investigators have not said whether the two scenes are connected, and detectives continue to follow leads from both incidents.
