Detectives secured the area as a crime scene while investigators worked to piece together what happened, and police had not released the victim’s condition as of Sunday night.
According to NewsChannel 5, the call came in just after 5 p.m. Officers who arrived said they were unable to locate the people involved and began canvassing the area. The station reports detectives were reviewing nearby security footage as the investigation continued Sunday night.
Gallatin Pike has a recent history of incidents
The Gallatin Pike corridor has seen robberies and shootings in recent years, and small retailers have been targeted on multiple occasions. A previous serial-robbery investigation connected a string of armed robberies to the 3006 Gallatin Pike Dollar General, underscoring long‑running safety concerns along the route.
