A late-night trip to the ER turned into a fresh case for Cincinnati detectives after a person with a gunshot wound showed up at The Christ Hospital on Auburn Avenue Friday night.
Police said the victim was treated for injuries described as non-life-threatening. Where the shooting actually happened is still a mystery, and officers are not releasing any suspect information while they sort it out.
According to WLWT, Cincinnati police confirmed that the wounded person arrived at the hospital with a gunshot wound and that detectives are working to determine the location of the shooting. The department told the station it had no suspect details to share as investigators continue to follow leads.
Hospital Location and Investigation Challenges
The Christ Hospital lists its main campus at 2139 Auburn Ave in Mt. Auburn, just north of downtown, where its emergency department routinely handles traumatic injuries, according to The Christ Hospital. Local reporting has noted that some shooting victims arrive at hospitals by private vehicle rather than by ambulance, a trend that can complicate on-scene evidence collection and make it tougher for detectives to nail down exactly where a shooting took place, as highlighted in recent coverage by WCPO.
Police Asking for Tips
Investigators are asking anyone with information about the incident to contact Cincinnati police. Serious tips can be directed to the Homicide Unit at (513) 352-3542, according to department media releases, and anonymous tips can be submitted to Greater Cincinnati Crime Stoppers at (513) 352-3040. Cincinnati police list these resources as the main options for reporting information.
