
Richmond police are working a suspicious death after officers pulled a body from the city’s Harbor Channel near the 1300 block of Canal Boulevard yesterday. Detectives were called out on reports of a possible person in the water and quickly locked down the area while they tried to piece together what had happened.
Police Pinpoint Scene And Timeline
According to SFGATE, officers discovered the body at about 11:17 AM near the 1300 block of Canal Boulevard and immediately opened a suspicious death investigation. The person’s name and cause of death have not been released, and investigators say the inquiry is still very much active.
Bulletin Stresses No Ongoing Threat
In a Facebook post, the Richmond Police Department said there is “no active threat to public safety at this time.” The department asked anyone with information to contact Richmond police dispatch at (510) 233-1214 and urged witnesses or boaters who were in the Harbor Channel area to share any video or observations with detectives.
