Indianapolis was rocked Friday when a supervisory FBI special agent turned himself in at the Marion County Jail after a grand jury indictment for felony sexual battery was unsealed, according to court records. The agent, identified as 46-year-old Timothy Healy, was booked on an open warrant and later released on a $5,000 cash bond.
The Veteran Negotiator At The Center Of The Case
Supervisory Special Agent Timothy C. Healy serves with the FBI’s Crisis Negotiation Unit in Quantico and has managed regional negotiation programs and training deployments nationally and overseas, according to the FBI’s Law Enforcement Bulletin. The bulletin lists Healy as a CNU supervisory special agent and notes his role in co-authoring negotiation guidance used in training.
How Investigators Built The Case
Indiana State Police opened the probe in October 2025 and, after presenting evidence to a grand jury in late April, an indictment was returned and unsealed Friday, as reported by FOX59. Indiana State Police Sgt. John Perrine told FOX59 investigators gathered information and evidence "within a few weeks" before turning the case over to prosecutors and said "victims will be supported and investigators will seek justice."
What The Felony Charge Means
Healy was arrested on a single count of sexual battery, a Level 6 felony in Indiana. Per Indiana Code § 35-50-2-7, a Level 6 felony carries a fixed prison term of six months to two-and-a-half years, with an advisory sentence of one year and possible fines.
FBI Response And Next Steps
Both local and national FBI offices declined to comment on the arrest, keeping public reaction on the federal side to little more than a formal silence. Court records show Healy surrendered for an open warrant before being booked and released on $5,000 cash bond. The case now moves through Marion County courts, where prosecutors will schedule hearings and determine next steps in the prosecution.
