Memphis police responded to reports of gunfire in the Orange Mound neighborhood just after midnight Monday, converging on the 800 block of Hamilton Street in the early hours before dawn. Officers said their initial sweep did not immediately confirm whether anyone had been hit, and detectives stayed on scene to collect evidence and talk with residents.
According to WREG, officers were called to the 800 block of Hamilton Street around 12:00 a.m. Reporter Deja Davis noted that it remained unclear whether there were any injuries. The WREG report also features photography credited to Quintin Bearkley from the overnight scene.
Second Call Reported in South Memphis
Roughly an hour after the Hamilton Street call, police took another shooting report in South Memphis, the station said. WREG reported that both shootings are under investigation, and as of the morning update, authorities had not released any suspect descriptions or announced arrests.

Orange Mound has seen repeated incidents of gunfire this year and remains an area of concern for residents and law enforcement.
