What started as a quiet early-morning stretch near Shelby Farms Park turned tragic Sunday when a multi-vehicle crash left one person dead and three others injured, according to Memphis police.
Emergency crews were called to the intersection of Walnut Grove Road and Farm Road around 2:30 a.m. Officers found multiple vehicles involved and shut down lanes at the busy crossroads while they worked the scene. One person was rushed to a hospital in critical condition and later died. Three additional people were taken to the hospital with noncritical injuries.
The intersection was closed for nearly three hours as investigators documented the wreckage and cleared the roadway, according to FOX13 Memphis. Police have not released the victims' identities, and the cause of the crash remains under investigation. Officials say more information will be released when it becomes available.

Investigation ongoing
Memphis police say their investigation into Sunday’s crash is still underway and that they are working to determine how the wreck unfolded.
