Albertin estimates the build-out at about $100,000, has signed a 10-year lease with two five-year options, and is targeting a July 2026 opening.

Albertin moved to Denver in 2014 and worked his way through local Italian kitchens before launching Voghera Ristorante & Apericena on Tennyson Street during the pandemic. He plans to carry that series into La Vietta, which is pitched as a return to a smaller, old-world style of dining room rather than a highly modernized space.

The Nichols Partnership, which developed the Nichols Building at 1644 Platte, said the unit drew substantial interest after Brider announced its closure and that Albertin emerged as a strong candidate for the address. The firm highlights the project on its website, and during lease talks, Daniel Nichols called Albertin "awesome to work with," according to The Denver Post. Andrew Clemens represented Nichols Partnership in the lease negotiations.

Brider's departure left a prominent hole on Platte Street and kicked off a fresh wave of inquiries from restaurateurs looking to stake a claim on the corridor. Westword reported Brider's October 2025 closing after roughly a decade on the block and noted the churn of openings and closings reshaping the street. La Vietta is among the first full-service commitments to land on the block in the wake of that shakeup.

Court filings and public records show that Albertin previously filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy and that Voghera was involved in an eviction dispute related to unpaid rent.
