A woman is in serious condition after being stabbed from behind while walking along a West Side sidewalk early Wednesday in San Antonio, authorities said. The pre-dawn attack unfolded around 1:45 a.m., and the assailant slipped away before officers could get to the scene.
What police say
According to FOX San Antonio, the stabbing happened about 1:45 a.m. on North Elmendorf Street near West Poplar Street when a man walked up behind the woman and stabbed her. She was taken to a hospital in serious condition, the station reports. As of now, police have not made any arrests.
Recent West Side incidents
The case adds to a run of overnight knife incidents on the West Side in recent months.
