
Indianapolis police on Thursday evening urged people to stay away from parts of the city’s south side while they worked an active incident, saying a suspect was in custody and that no officers were hurt. Where authorities asked people to stay away
Police identified several south side spots as no-go zones while the investigation was active. Those included the 1400 block of Union Street, other parts of Union between East Morris and East Palmer Streets, and the intersection of South East Street and National Avenue, according to WTHR.

Authorities confirmed that the suspect was in custody but did not share what sparked the confrontation or whether any civilians were injured. Detectives stayed on scene into the evening and said they would release more details as the investigation develops.
