
A routine wellness check in Deerfield Township turned chaotic Saturday night when, according to authorities, a local man opened fire on responding deputies from an upstairs room. Roughly a dozen shots were fired, but in a stroke of luck, no one was hit, and deputies arrested the suspect at the scene.
In a post on social media, the Warren County Sheriff's Office said deputies were dispatched at about 9:41 p.m. to 9735 Mason-Montgomery Road for a "wellbeing check of a man in crisis." When deputies arrived around 9:46 p.m., the office said they were met with gunfire from a second-floor room, where an estimated 12 to 15 rounds were fired before the man was taken into custody. The post outlined the timing of the call and response but did not address a motive.

Deputies identified the suspect as Seth Foresman. He was booked on charges that include improper discharge of a weapon, inducing panic, and weapons while intoxicated, according to WKRC Local 12. Officials said the arrest took place at the scene and confirmed that no deputies were injured. Authorities have not released information about Foresman’s condition or any potential motive behind the gunfire.

WHIO reports that deputies were on scene in the 9700 block of Mason-Montgomery Road around 9:40 p.m. and that the gunfire came from an upstairs room inside the home.
