Wynwood is about to get a little louder. Upside, a music-driven cocktail lounge, is set to open in the neighborhood on Friday, June 5. The day-to-night spot is promising creative cocktails, shareable bites and a sound-first setup that shifts from laid-back daytime listening into late-night DJ sets and surprise sessions.
According to Time Out, Upside will debut at 59 NW 28th Street and lean into bold visual design and multidimensional lighting that evolve as the night goes on. The outlet reports that the venue will program curated listening sessions, surprise sets and late-night DJ appearances, and that it also plans spirit-brand collaborations, game-day watch parties and art-and-fashion pop-ups.
The venue’s own site lists the address as 59 NW 28th Street, Miami, FL 33127 and frames Upside as a room “built for both” quick daytime drinks and longer late-night hangs. The venue’s website notes that reservations are “coming soon” and urges guests to sign up and follow along via its online channels. According to Upside Wynwood, the experience is designed to balance “edge with ease” and to flow naturally from day to night.
Executive chef Pablo Lamon, who appeared on Bravo’s Top Chef Season 16 according to Eater, will lead a shareable menu at Upside. Time Out lists elevated bites such as braised short rib and manchego croquettes, red jalapeno mac & cheese arancini, whipped ricotta “cream cloud” toast and smoked wagyu sirloin bites, all paired with a seasonal, music-inspired cocktail program.
Where Upside Fits In Wynwood
Upside’s opening lands as Wynwood sees a fresh wave of music-focused venues and programming, a sign that promoters and owners are doubling down on sound-forward nightlife. Earlier this year, Axios reported that larger new venues like Midline and the reopening of other local stages point to renewed momentum for live and DJ-driven spots across the neighborhood.
According to Upside Wynwood, the bar is collecting names for an opening roster and is encouraging followers to watch its site or Instagram for ticketed nights and special events. With doors scheduled to open June 5, the lounge is set to join Wynwood’s growing lineup of spots that blend serious music programming with equally serious cocktail craft.
