According to CBS Chicago, the shooting happened in the 700 block of East 47th Street when an argument between the victim and another male turned physical and a man pulled out a firearm. The boy was hit in the chest and transported to the University of Chicago's Comer Children's Hospital, where police again described his condition as fair. Authorities did not say whether anyone was in custody, and Area 1 detectives are handling the investigation.
Bronzeville's recent violence
The shooting is the latest in a string of violent incidents rattling the South Side neighborhood this month.
