Cherry Creek Arts Festival is gearing up to take over Cherry Creek North for its 35th anniversary, the weekend of July 3-5, with a ticketed Opening Night preview on Thursday, July 2. The free outdoor event will shut down streets across the neighborhood to make room for juried artist booths, live music stages, food vendors, and family-friendly art-making stations.
CherryArts, the nonprofit behind the festival, reports that this year’s jury selected 250 artists from a pool of 1,983 applicants and awarded five Emerging Artist grants to support early-career makers, according to a press release from CherryArts. The same release notes that roughly 80 exhibitors are showing at the festival for the first time and that CherryArts’ year-round outreach reached more than 40,000 Colorado students last year.
Opening Night and ticketing
Opening Night is scheduled for Thursday, July 2 from 5 to 9 p.m., and current listings put tickets at around $115, with patron and VIP options that help underwrite CherryArts’ education programs. Eventbrite includes package details and add-ons for attendees who want an early look at the artists.
Lineup, live music and the auction
Local coverage by Denver7 described the roster as 265 national and international juried artists and highlighted the Canvas Credit Union Main Stage on Fillmore, which is set to host about 13 acts over the three days. According to Denver7, the annual CherryArts Art Auction launches online June 29 with donated work from roughly 90 festival artists, and this year’s commemorative poster by Bennett will be sold at the festival, with the artist slated for booth 262 on Detroit Street.
