Today, fire crews battled a three-alarm blaze at a three-story house inside a gated neighborhood in far north Dallas, with flames punching through the roof and thick smoke pouring from attic windows. Firefighters periodically pulled back to ensure the fire did not jump to nearby homes, and no injuries were reported as crews worked into the night to get the flames under control.
Units were dispatched to reports of a fire at 23 Ash Bluff Lane and quickly escalated the response after crews found smoke in the attic and visible fire through the roof. A second alarm was called because of the size of the home, and a third alarm was requested after the roof was breached. Active call records showed more than 60 Dallas Fire-Rescue personnel remained on scene, according to The Dallas Morning News.
Historic Estate at Center of Blaze
The house at 23 Ash Bluff Lane is a longtime local estate that dates back to the 1930s and has been profiled in real-estate coverage for its size and history. Listing sites put the property at roughly 18,000 square feet with seven bedrooms and a multimillion-dollar valuation, as detailed by D Magazine and Redfin.
Fire Response and Investigation
Officials said it was still unclear whether anyone was inside when the blaze broke out, and noted that crews were periodically pulled from the structure to check for fire spread to nearby buildings. Investigators had not identified a cause as of Friday evening, and emergency activity was expected to continue while firefighters worked to fully extinguish remaining hot spots, according to The Dallas Morning News.
