Hollywood police say a 33-year-old man who called himself “Ghost” is back behind bars, accused of sexually assaulting two teenage girls at a motel after luring them with drugs in early 2024.
Nicholas Perez was re-arrested this week in Hollywood and booked into the Broward County Main Jail. According to investigators, Perez used the alias “Ghost,” lied about his age and offered drugs to gain the teens’ trust before the alleged assaults in January 2024.
Police documents reviewed by Local 10 state that the victims, ages 14 and 16, went to a party at the Black Flamingo in Pompano Beach on Jan. 12, 2024. The next day, Perez allegedly met up with them at a Boca Raton beach, then drove them to the Breeze Inn in Hollywood.
Once there, police say he rented a room and gave the girls cocaine before sexual contact occurred. One teen reported the abuse to authorities on Jan. 29, 2024, according to the report, and the second came forward on April 29.
Police Seek Tips
Hollywood detectives are asking for the public’s help as they work to piece together the case timeline and track down any additional evidence. Anyone with information or video that could assist the investigation is urged to call Broward County Crime Stoppers at 954-493-8477.
Tips can also be submitted online through Broward Crime Stoppers. Investigators say they are reviewing available records while the case moves through the court system.
Charges And Court Records
Court filings reviewed by Local 10 show that Broward prosecutors opened a drug-possession case against Perez in May 2024. On June 3, 2024, he was charged with two counts of lewd or lascivious battery of a minor and contributing to the delinquency of a child.
According to those records, prosecutors added a new case on June 10, 2026 that includes counts described as “sexual assault by an adult of a minor” and contributing to the delinquency of a child. The documents indicate Perez was first arrested in May 2024, then again in June 2024, before his most recent booking this week.
Legal Context
Under Florida law (Section 800.04), lewd or lascivious offenses involving anyone under 16 are explicitly prohibited, and claiming ignorance of a victim’s age is not a valid defense. As outlined in the Florida Statutes, the law breaks down several categories of lewd-or-lascivious crimes and sets the felony levels prosecutors rely on when charging cases involving minors.
Those provisions shape how counts are filed, what penalties apply and how the cases move through court. For now, Perez remains in custody at the Broward County Main Jail while prosecutors review the files and prepare their next steps.
Detectives continue to urge anyone with information about the case to contact Hollywood police or Broward County Crime Stoppers as the investigation remains active.
