Portland dining veteran Ken Gordon is firing up the spits again, this time with Bon Temps Poulet, a Paris-style chicken rotisserie tucked into Southeast Portland's Rainbow Road plaza. The compact counter setup will turn out dry-aged, free-range rotisserie chickens with fries, poutine and sandwiches, all geared toward easy takeout. Service is scheduled to kick off next Wednesday, June 10, marking a notable homecoming for anyone who remembers Gordon's earlier spots.
Where and When
Bon Temps Poulet will run out of the pub at Gorges Beer Co., with service beginning next Wednesday, June 10. Hours are set for 3 to 9 p.m. Wednesday through Sunday, stretching to 10 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, as reported by The Oregonian/OregonLive.
Location
The rotisserie will make use of the brewery's pub space at 2724 S.E. Ankeny Street in the Rainbow Road plaza, an address listed on the brewery's own website. Gorges Beer Co. confirms the location and venue details.
Menu and Prices
The spotlight stays firmly on dry-aged, free-range chickens, sold by the half for $26.75 and whole for $38.75. Rounding out the board: chicken poutine, dirty fries, a chopped chicken salad and a chicken sandwich with bacon and avocado on a baguette. Diners get a choice of roasted potatoes, fries or a green salad on the side, and opening sauces are set to include garlic aioli, peanut sauce, curry mayo, chimichurri and ranch, according to The Oregonian/OregonLive.
The outlet also points out that the rotisserie sits just a couple of blocks from where Gordon first made his mark with 28 East, and notes that he trained in France at the École de Cuisine La Varenne before working in Paris and Burgundy in the early 1980s.
Gordon's Return
Gordon's résumé runs through several long-running local institutions and, more recently, a stint at Sheridan Fruit Company. Willamette Week profiled his move into the grocery's deli in 2025 and traced his decades of influence on Portland's restaurant scene. Willamette Week reports that since his larger restaurants closed, Gordon has rotated through pop-ups, specialty projects and shorter-run ventures.
What To Expect
Bon Temps Poulet is shaping up as a neighborhood rotisserie with a tight, focused menu built for takeout and beer-pub crowds. Fans of Gordon's past work can expect familiar instincts at play: straightforward technique, classic French training and a soft spot for comfort-food flavors, all funneled into a single, do-one-thing-well concept.
