
An 18-year-old woman was shot near Sellwood Riverfront Park early Friday and taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, according to police. The shooting happened at about 1:15 a.m. in the 8000 block of Southeast Oaks Park Way. Officers said the suspect or suspects left the area before patrol units arrived, and no arrests have been made.
As reported by KPTV, Portland Police Bureau officers were dispatched to the scene and found the victim at the park. The outlet says detectives have opened an active investigation and asked anyone with information to reference case number 26-170120. Authorities have not released a suspect description or a possible motive.
Riverfront Has Seen Serious Incidents Before
Sellwood Riverfront Park was also the site of a deadly shooting in 2024 that led to a homicide investigation and a public appeal for witnesses. That earlier coverage highlighted officials' requests for tips in the case.
