The attack happened near the intersection of 16th Street and National Avenue at about 9:25 PM, according to police. Officers at the scene applied a tourniquet before paramedics transported the victim, and investigators from the San Diego Police Department's Central Division are searching for a suspect.

According to FOX5 San Diego, officers and bystanders found the man near 16th and National and rendered aid, with officers applying a tourniquet in less than five minutes. The station reports paramedics then transported him to a local hospital, and SDPD's Central Division has opened an active investigation while the suspect remains at large.
