
Friday night turned deadly in Little Village when a 33-year-old man was found shot near South Hamlin Avenue and West 30th Street, according to Chicago police. Officers responding just before 9 p.m. discovered the man unresponsive with multiple gunshot wounds. He was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. Area Four detectives have opened an investigation, and police did not immediately release additional details.
The victim was found lying on the street with those multiple gunshot wounds, according to ABC7 Chicago. The station reported that officers located the scene near South Hamlin and West 30th and confirmed the man was transported to Mt. Sinai Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Recent Violence in Little Village
The killing is the latest in a string of shootings on the Southwest Side. Late-night Little Village drive turns bloody detailed a late-May incident in which two 18-year-olds were wounded, an episode that was also covered by CBS Chicago.
