Wednesday, June 3, 2026 - Memphis woke up to clear skies and mild air this morning, with temperatures around 66°F at the Memphis airport. Sunshine stays in charge today, with a high near 85°F and a light east breeze at 5 to 10 mph. Tonight, temperatures slip back to about 65°F, keeping midweek as a comfortable window for any outdoor plans before rain and storms start creeping back later in the weekend.
Midweek: Sunny, Dry, and Comfortable
Today and Thursday look pleasantly quiet. Highs will hover around 85°F, and the humidity will be noticeably lower than in recent days, with more comfortable dew points. East to southeast winds remain light at 5 to 10 mph. Even though afternoon relative humidity could dip below 40 percent at times, fire weather concerns stay low, in line with forecasts from the National Weather Service Memphis.
Weekend: Storm Chances Creep Back In
By late Saturday, a weaker pattern shift lets moisture drift back into the region. That will bring a slight chance of afternoon showers Saturday, followed by a better shot at showers and thunderstorms on Sunday with highs near 88°F. Forecast guidance puts Saturday's rain chance near 20 percent, and Sunday's closer to 60 percent, with Monday also looking unsettled. Widespread severe weather is not anticipated, but "a few strong storms cannot be ruled out," according to the NWS forecast discussion.
Plan Around The Pop-Ups
If you are planning to be outside this weekend, it is worth tossing a light rain jacket in the bag and keeping a backup plan handy. Any storms that develop will most likely pop up during the afternoon and could bring brief heavy downpours and gusty winds. In the meantime, Wednesday's commute should be about as easy as it gets, with sunshine and light winds on tap. We will update the outlook if the timing or intensity of the storms starts to shift.
