A Saturday evening shooting in Memphis’ Parkway Village neighborhood left one man dead and another detained, according to police. Officers responded just before 7 p.m. to the area of Tarrywood Drive and Claudette Road, where they found a man who was pronounced dead at the scene. Another man was detained nearby as the Memphis Police Department labeled the case an active investigation.
What Police Say So Far
According to Action News 5, MPD officials said officers responded to the shooting call, located the victim and confirmed he died at the scene, then detained a man in the vicinity. Police have not released the names of either man or given any information about a possible motive. Detectives say the investigation is ongoing and are asking anyone with information to contact investigators.

Parkway Village has already seen multiple shootings this year, including an April triple shooting that left one person dead, underscoring a troubling pattern of violent incidents in the neighborhood.
