A neighborhood dispute in northwest Miami-Dade turned violent Saturday evening when a man was struck by a vehicle and had to be airlifted to the hospital, according to deputies.
Deputies with the Miami-Dade Sheriff's Office were called to the 5400 block of Northwest 192nd Lane around 5:50 p.m., where they found a man with a major laceration to his leg, Local 10 reported. Miami-Dade Fire Rescue flew him by helicopter to a nearby hospital, where he was listed in stable condition. Another man was taken into custody at the scene as investigators worked to sort out how the confrontation escalated.
Violent episodes along nearby corridors
The clash is the latest in a string of serious roadside incidents in the area this spring. In April, deputies said a man was stabbed and then hit by a car, according to CBS Miami. More recently, a pre-dawn hit-and-run in May left a man dead, underscoring ongoing safety concerns along several northwest Miami-Dade corridors.
Investigation ongoing
No additional details, including what led up to Saturday's dispute, were immediately released as the investigation continues, according to Local 10. This story will be updated if authorities share more information.
