Sapori, the Sicilian-run bakery that built a devoted following in Ogden, has quietly slipped into Millcreek, giving Salt Lake County a closer spot to score ricotta-stuffed croissants, cannoli, and other Sicilian pastries. For neighborhood coffee runs, it means a much shorter drive and a much higher risk of walking out with a box instead of a single treat.
Per KUTV, Taste Utah host Katy Sine stopped by the Millcreek counter and spotlighted Sapori’s “decadent baked goods with authentic Italian flavor.” KUTV notes that many of the pastries are still handmade in Ogden, then delivered to Salt Lake County as the owners extend their reach across the Wasatch Front. The segment also directs viewers to Sapori’s website for current menus and ordering details.
Fox13’s Good Day Utah has profiled the family team behind the business as well, reporting that Sapori now runs two locations, the original Ogden bakery and the Millcreek outpost that opened earlier this year. In an interview with Fox13, co-owner Azzurra Cuchel recalled opening the first shop in late 2019 and said the Millcreek counter lets the bakery connect with more neighborhood customers. The piece emphasizes that steady community support has fueled Sapori’s growth.
From Ogden Ovens to Millcreek Counters
Sapori started as a downtown Ogden bakery, and its website still lists the original address and hours, with the Ogden shop shown at 325 24th Street. The owners say much of the pastry production is handled by hand in Ogden, then routed to the Millcreek counter to keep the case stocked with fresh items. For the latest word on menus, hours, and how to order, Sapori’s official site remains the go-to source.
What Millcreek Gains
Local roundups of new spots have already flagged Sapori’s Millcreek debut as part of a broader wave of specialty bakeries and counters moving into Salt Lake County. CityCast included Sapori in a recent list of notable openings, a nod to the growing appetite for housemade pastries and neighborhood cafes. For Salt Lake diners, the payoff is simple: easier access to Sicilian pastries and coffee without the Ogden trek.
Millcreek shoppers can expect a rotating pastry case and limited quantities of signature items on weekend mornings, so customers are urged to check Sapori’s site before heading out to see what is available that day. Sapori posts menus and contact information at saporibakery.com, and the KUTV Taste Utah segment offers a quick video preview of the Millcreek counter. As word spreads, weekday visits may give pastry fans the best shot at the full selection.
