A late-morning confrontation in Palm Beach County turned gruesome when two women allegedly forced their way into a home and stabbed two people, leaving one woman fighting for her life. Deputies say the suspects were picked up nearby shortly after the attack and now face serious felony charges.
The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office identified the suspects as 22-year-old Kayla Britton and 27-year-old Andrika Eaddy, adding that both were arrested on June 20. Prosecutors have charged the pair with first-degree premeditated murder, criminal conspiracy and burglary with assault or battery, according to CBS12. Deputies say the case remains very much an active investigation.
Deputies were called to the residence around 10:26 a.m., where they found two victims suffering from multiple stab wounds. Investigators told CBS12 the violence appeared to grow out of an ongoing dispute that had been building for several months. According to deputies, Britton allegedly used pepper spray on one victim while Eaddy allegedly stabbed that woman, and investigators later recovered two knives near a gray minivan, including one that appeared to have blood on it.
Investigation and legal context
Under Florida law, prosecutors can pursue first-degree or attempted first-degree murder charges when they believe there is evidence of a premeditated intent to kill or when a suspect’s actions meet the legal elements of attempted homicide. The state’s murder statute and related attempt provisions outline how those charges may be brought, as detailed in the Florida Statutes.
What’s next
Both suspects were taken into custody, read their rights and, according to the arrest report, agreed to speak with investigators. The sheriff’s office says the investigation is ongoing, and prosecutors will review the case before it proceeds in court. Authorities are asking anyone with information about the incident to contact PBSO’s Violent Crimes Division or share tips with local detectives.
