A pre-dawn gathering in Coconut Grove turned violent early Saturday when someone was shot near the 3800 block of Oak Avenue. Miami police said officers were responding to reports of a large crowd around 1:55 a.m. when they heard gunfire in the area. A short time later, they found a wounded person, who was taken by Miami Fire Rescue to the emergency room at Jackson Memorial Hospital. Authorities have not released the victim’s name or current condition.

Miami police said officers were called to the 3800 block of Oak Avenue at about 1:55 a.m. and later located a person who had been shot, according to Local 10. Officers reported hearing gunshots as they arrived, and detectives worked the scene overnight, collecting evidence. As of early Saturday, police had not released any suspect description and investigators were asking anyone who saw or heard anything to come forward.
