A 20-year-old Des Plaines man was killed late Saturday after his motorcycle collided with a Subaru SUV on Rand Road near Henry Street in Mount Prospect, authorities said. Officers found the wreck at about 10:01 p.m., and the rider was rushed to Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge, where he was later pronounced dead.
At the scene
According to the Chicago Sun-Times, the victim was identified as Scotty J. Stuck, 20, of Des Plaines. An officer found the crash site southeast of the Rand and Henry intersection and discovered Stuck with severe injuries. He was taken to Advocate Lutheran General, where the Cook County medical examiner’s office recorded his time of death as 11:53 p.m. The Subaru’s driver, a 33-year-old Mount Prospect man, was not injured, the Sun-Times reports.
Police investigating
Mount Prospect police say detectives are working to determine what led to the collision and are treating it as a major crash investigation. The department’s Major Crash Investigation Team, which handles fatal and serious traffic collisions, is leading the probe. The Village of Mount Prospect notes that the team is called in for the most serious roadway incidents and is asking anyone with information to come forward.
Recent local crash history
Mount Prospect has seen other deadly crashes in recent years, including a March 2025 collision that killed an 83-year-old driver and a June 2024 motorcycle crash that killed an 18-year-old rider.
