A 20-year-old Des Plaines man was killed late Saturday after his motorcycle collided with a Subaru SUV on Rand Road near Henry Street in Mount Prospect, authorities said. Officers found the wreck at about 10:01 p.m., and the rider was rushed to Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge, where he was later pronounced dead.

At the scene

According to the Chicago Sun-Times, the victim was identified as Scotty J. Stuck, 20, of Des Plaines. An officer found the crash site southeast of the Rand and Henry intersection and discovered Stuck with severe injuries. He was taken to Advocate Lutheran General, where the Cook County medical examiner’s office recorded his time of death as 11:53 p.m. The Subaru’s driver, a 33-year-old Mount Prospect man, was not injured, the Sun-Times reports.

The department’s Major Crash Investigation Team, which handles fatal and serious traffic collisions, is leading the probe. The Village of Mount Prospect notes that the team is called in for the most serious roadway incidents and is asking anyone with information to come forward.
