A Stockholm startup backed by Andreessen Horowitz is bringing its bid to automate building engineering to San Francisco, New York and London. Endra says its software can turn work that traditionally takes months into a process measured in hours, putting the company squarely in the race to make construction more AI-native.
Endra’s U.S. Expansion Includes A San Francisco Office
Endra announced that it has opened a North American headquarters in New York, a West Coast office in San Francisco and a United Kingdom office in London. The company is hiring across engineering, sales, and customer success in all three cities, with plans to reach 100 employees globally over the next 12 months, according to CityBiz.
The expansion follows a $50 million Series A led by Andreessen Horowitz, with the venture firm describing Endra as a company focused on automating mechanical, electrical and plumbing, or MEP, engineering. In its investment announcement, Andreessen Horowitz said the platform is aimed at a global engineering-services market constrained by the capacity of human design teams.
The Software Targets The Plumbing And Wiring Bottleneck
Endra’s platform ingests building model files, integrates with Autodesk Revit and reconstructs projects in a three-dimensional environment before automating system design, device placement, routing and documentation. The company says its tools are built for electrical, HVAC, plumbing and fire-protection systems, with U.S. and U.K. regulatory workflows currently in beta, as outlined on Endra’s website.
According to the company’s expansion announcement, a code-compliant electrical design for a 500,000-square-foot commercial building can be completed in less than a day, compared with roughly two months using traditional methods. That promise is aimed at engineering consultancies dealing with increasingly complicated data centers, hospitals, electrified buildings and net-zero projects.
Why San Francisco Matters To Endra’s Next Phase
San Francisco gives Endra a West Coast base as it tries to sell enterprise software to major engineering firms rather than individual consumers. Co-founder and President Anton Juric told CityBiz that the company is building in the United States in person because enterprise trust is won through direct relationships.
That approach tracks with Andreessen Horowitz’s description of Endra’s early customers, which include several large engineering firms, and its call for MEP companies, general contractors and developers to use the platform to move projects faster. The investor also said Endra is hiring in New York and San Francisco, underscoring that the offices are intended as operating hubs rather than merely mailing addresses.
Endra Plans Las Vegas Product Reveal This Fall
The company’s next major public milestone is Epoch, a September 14 event at AREA15 in Las Vegas, where Endra plans to unveil its electrical module. The event page says chess grandmaster and AI commentator Garry Kasparov will be among the speakers, while CEO Niklas Lindgren is slated to discuss the future of designing buildings, according to Endra’s event site.
