A 60-year-old man was found fatally shot inside an Auburn Gresham home Wednesday morning, bringing police to another deadly shooting scene on Chicago’s South Side. The circumstances surrounding the shooting remained unclear as investigators began working to determine what happened.
The man was found unresponsive with a gunshot wound to the abdomen around 10 a.m. in the 7600 block of South Emerald Street, according to the Chicago Sun-Times. Police said he was pronounced dead at the scene, no one else was injured and no arrests had been reported.
Police Have Not Released A Motive Or Suspect Information
The shooting is the latest fatal gunfire reported in Auburn Gresham this year. In May, a 74-year-old man was shot inside a home in the 8100 block of South Laflin Street, while an April shooting on South Morgan Street killed a 25-year-old woman and wounded a man, according to CBS Chicago and NBC Chicago.
Auburn Gresham also saw a July 2 shooting outside a gas station that left two people dead and two others critically wounded, the Sun-Times reported. In Wednesday’s case, police have not released additional details about a possible motive, suspect description or whether the victim was targeted.
