A Vacaville neighborhood turned tense yesterday after multiple reports of gunfire on Bishop Drive ended with a driver shot in the leg and rushed to the hospital.
Officers were called shortly after 4 PM to the 300 block of Bishop Drive for reports of several shots being fired in the residential area. According to a Facebook post from the Vacaville Police Department, officers arrived and found evidence consistent with a shooting, though both vehicles involved had already left the immediate area.
Not long after, officers located one of the vehicles in the 100 block of Donner Drive, where they provided medical aid to a driver suffering from a non-life-threatening leg wound. That person was then transported to a local hospital for treatment while detectives began piecing together what happened.
Investigators say both drivers took off from the scene right after the shooting, and detectives are now trying to track down everyone involved and any witnesses who saw the clash on Bishop Drive.

Detectives wrote in their statement that there is no known threat to the public at this time. A second vehicle believed to be tied to the incident was later found at a residence in Fairfield and towed so investigators could collect evidence, according to the Vacaville Police Department.
Officers also confirmed they rendered medical aid in the 100 block of Donner Drive before the wounded driver was taken to a hospital, reiterating that the injury was not considered life-threatening.
