
Bakey, the Boston-born bakery known for its chocolate babka, is landing in Hallandale Beach next Tuesday with its first South Florida location. The spot is set up as a kosher bakery-café, serving all-day breakfast, fresh babkas and savory pastries alongside specialty coffee.
Opening details
According to a press release via Miami's Community Newspapers, the Hallandale shop will open to the public next Tuesday in the former Kosher Bagel Cove space and will operate as a kosher location. The release notes seating for about 50 guests indoors and another 70 outdoors, with hours Sunday through Thursday, 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. A KosherPo directory entry for Kosher Bagel Cove lists the same address at 668 W Hallandale Beach Blvd, which the new bakery will occupy.
Menu and service
The Hallandale menu will center on Bakey’s chocolate and almond babkas, backed up by cheese burekas, croissants, rugalach, challah loaves and New York-style bagels, plus sandwiches and salads for lunch. The brand also highlights catering and wholesale programs, app-based order-ahead and loyalty options, and lists Hallandale among its upcoming Florida locations on Bakey.
About the team
Bakey first launched in Massachusetts in 2021, created by chef and master baker Uri Scheft, who founded Lehamim in Israel and helped start Breads Bakery in New York. The Boston rollout and Scheft’s background have been profiled by Eater Boston.
