Massachusetts State Police spokeswoman Sarah Burgess told the Boston Herald that during the stop, which happened on Route 25 heading toward Cape Cod around 9:30 a.m., "when the driver's door was open, the car began to move, dragging one of the troopers several feet." The department said the encounter started as a traffic stop before the driver took off.
How the pursuit ended
According to Boston 25 News, state police said the fleeing vehicle crossed the Bourne Bridge, struck at least one trooper and continued onto MacArthur Boulevard into Falmouth. Members of the MSP STOP Team and the Violent Fugitive Apprehension Section ultimately took the driver into custody outside a home. Investigators then secured the scene and processed the vehicle and surrounding area.
