More than a year after a fatal shooting in Chicago’s South Shore neighborhood, police are asking the public to help identify two men captured on surveillance video before and after the killing.
The homicide happened around 6:20 p.m. on June 7, 2025, in the 7800 block of South Clyde Avenue, where police say two males approached another person and opened fire. The victim was killed, and the pair reportedly walked away before fleeing east on 78th Street, according to FOX 32 Chicago.
Chicago’s public homicide data lists the case under reference number JJ285418 and records the killing as occurring on June 7, 2025. Police have not said what led to the shooting or whether the victim was specifically targeted.
What The South Shore Surveillance Video Shows
Investigators say the footage shows the two men walking south on Clyde Avenue from 78th Street before the shooting. One was wearing a black-and-gray hoodie over a red shirt with dark pants, while the other wore a black hoodie with white lettering and ripped skinny jeans.
