A late-night shift at a Clarksville convenience store turned violent Tuesday, June 30, when a clerk was stabbed multiple times during an alleged robbery inside the EZ Market on East Boy Scout Road. First responders had the victim flown by helicopter to a Metro Nashville trauma center for treatment, and police say the clerk is in stable condition while detectives work the case.
Officers arrived to find the store employee suffering from several stab wounds, according to WSMV. The station reported on July 1 that the clerk was airlifted to Nashville and remains under medical care as the investigation continues.
Local radio outlet WHOP-AM says officers were called to the EZ Market at about 10:15 p.m. Tuesday and determined a robbery had taken place. Investigators are reviewing surveillance video and talking with witnesses, and authorities are asking anyone with information to contact law enforcement.
Same Store Targeted In Earlier Break-In Try
The EZ Market at 1801 E. Boy Scout Road was also the scene of an attempted burglary in December, when the Clarksville Police Department asked the public for help identifying a suspect, according to Clarksville Online. That prior case is part of a broader effort by investigators to examine patterns involving neighborhood markets that may be repeatedly targeted.
Police Seek Tips And Video Footage
According to the Clarksville Police Department website, anyone with information about Tuesday night’s stabbing and alleged robbery, or with video from the East Boy Scout Road area, is urged to call 931-648-0656 or dial 911. Detectives are asking residents to review door-cam and dash-cam footage and to contact investigators if they notice anything suspicious from around the time of the incident.
