A pre-dawn shooting at a Hermitage apartment complex on the 1400 block of Lebanon Pike left a man dead early Saturday, according to Metro Nashville Police. The victim was rushed to Vanderbilt University Medical Center, where he later died, and homicide detectives kept the scene locked down as they began combing for evidence.
According to WSMV, the gunfire broke out around 4:30 a.m. Police told the station they have "strong leads" as detectives work the case, but they have not announced any arrests or released further details.
Violence Along Lebanon Pike
The killing is the latest in a string of violent incidents along this busy stretch of Lebanon Pike in Hermitage. On June 9, a store worker was shot outside a Mapco convenience store, and on June 23, a woman was stabbed at a nearby apartment complex and taken to Vanderbilt. What Investigators Are Saying
For now, police have not released any suspect description or possible motive in Saturday’s killing. Detectives are asking anyone who was in the area around 4:30 a.m., or who has security camera or cellphone video from that time, to contact Metro Nashville Police.
