A person was hospitalized after an early-morning shooting in Cincinnati’s Avondale neighborhood today, with police still working to determine what led to the gunfire and who fired the shots. The first emergency call came in just after 5 a.m.
According to WLWT, officers were called to North Fred Shuttlesworth Circle, where one person was taken to UC Medical Center. Two workers were at the location when shots were fired, though police could not confirm what company they worked for, a Spectrum truck was seen behind crime-scene tape.
The shooting is the latest serious gunfire investigation reported in Avondale this summer. On June 6, three people were hospitalized after a shooting near Reading Road and Hutchins Avenue, with one victim in serious condition, according to WCPO.
Police have not publicly released the hospitalized person’s condition or any suspect information in today's case. Investigators are continuing to work at the scene, and additional details are expected as the investigation develops, WLWT reports.
